Birdi Design is the data controller for the information described here. We aren't required to have a data protection officer, so questions go straight to David.
The site doesn't set any cookies. That's why there's no cookie banner, and nothing you have to decide before you keep reading.
We use Microsoft Clarity and Umami to see how the site is used: which pages get read, how far people scroll and where they click. Both are set up here to run entirely without cookies, so your visits aren't linked together over time, and you aren't recognized the next time you come by.
Clarity and Umami receive your IP address, your browser and your device type. The IP address is used to tell which country a visit comes from, and it doesn't appear in the reports we can see.
The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser does that, Google receives your IP address. That happens because the file has to be fetched from Google, not to measure anything.
Under Cases, you can open a live view of a client's website. It's loaded through a small preview service of ours, hosted by Lovable, and shown in a frame on this page. Images and files still come from the client's own domain, so that website receives your IP address just as if you had visited it yourself. None of this happens until you click.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interests). Our interest is being able to see whether the site works, and to make it better. Because the measuring happens without cookies and without recognizing you, we consider that it doesn't significantly affect your privacy.
You can reach us through the forms on the site, by email or by phone. We process what you tell us yourself: usually your name, company, email, phone number, website and message.
Giving us this information is voluntary. Just know that we can't reply to you without it.
The forms are Webflow forms, protected against spam by Cloudflare Turnstile. Your message is stored with Webflow and passed on to us through the automation service Make.
If you enter a domain under “Free review”, the site checks with Cloudflare that the domain exists, and fetches a screenshot of that homepage from Microlink, or from thum.io as a backup. The domain and your IP address are sent to them.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR when your inquiry is about an agreement or a quote, and Article 6(1)(f) otherwise, where our interest is being able to reply to you.
Inquiries that don't turn into a project are deleted no later than 12 months after our last contact.
During a project, we process your name, address, email, phone number and the content of our correspondence, so we can deliver the work and follow up afterwards. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR.
We keep it for as long as we work together, and for 12 months after that. Invoices and receipts are the exception, see the section below.
Invoices and receipts must be kept under the Danish Bookkeeping Act. They may show a name, an address and a description of the work. We keep them for 5 years from the end of the financial year they belong to. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR.
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising. Besides our own email and accounting systems, we use these providers:
We have data processing agreements with Webflow and Microsoft. The other providers only receive what their task requires, usually just your IP address because your browser fetches a file from them. Beyond that, we only share information when the law requires it.
Several of these providers, including Webflow, Microsoft, Google and Cloudflare, are US companies, so information may be processed outside the EU and EEA. This happens on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where it applies, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can get a copy of these safeguards by writing to us.
We don't do any profiling, and no automated decisions are made about you.
Only one person has access to the information. The systems we use are protected with a password and two-factor authentication, and access is closed when it's no longer needed.

If you're not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to Datatilsynet, the Danish Data Protection Agency, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark, at datatilsynet.dk. If you live in another EU country, you can also complain to the authority there.
We update this policy if we change how we handle information. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
